Project Accountant
Los Angeles, CA Direct-Hire $75000.00 - $85000.00 Hybrid

Job Description

Duties:

  • Set up and maintain project budgets in the accounting system, partnering closely with project managers.
  • Review project status monthly and update estimates-to-complete in Deltek.
  • Track financial progress from project start through closeout, identifying variances and alerting managers when budgets are exceeded.
  • Ensure all client and sub-consultant contracts are executed and accurately entered in the database.
  • Process monthly billing, prepare invoices, and manage collections for aged receivables over 60 days.
  • Support project managers by identifying discrepancies in revenue projections or budgets.
  • Coordinate consultant invoice processing and track sub-consultant budgets.
  • Maintain internal accounting and project reports and provide ad-hoc reporting to management as needed.
  • Assist with contract compliance needs, including certificates of insurance and sub-consultant documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or accounting preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in project accounting, client billing, or contract administration
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and project financial workflows.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and integrated accounting systems
  • Highly organized, professional, and able to build strong working relationships.
  • Independent, proactive, and capable of managing tasks with minimal supervision.
